The five pages most small businesses need
- Home. Say what you do, for whom and where, in the first screen. Add one main button, usually WhatsApp or call.
- Services or products. What you offer, in plain words, with a price or a "from" price where you can. People leave when they cannot tell if you are affordable.
- About. Who is behind the business and why a stranger should trust you. Real photos and your actual story beat stock images.
- Contact. Address, a link to the map, opening hours, phone, WhatsApp and email. Put the hours where nobody has to hunt for them.
- FAQ or pricing. The five questions you answer every week. Each one you answer on the page is one fewer message to type.
That is a small site at RM199; if you need up to ten pages, the standard site is RM299. See all packages, and look at our projects to see how simple pages can read.
Being found: Google search and Google Maps
These are two separate things, and people often mix them up.
- Search results list websites. A website with clear pages, your town and your services written in ordinary words gives search engines something to show. Rankings still take months and nobody controls them.
- Maps lists businesses from a Google Business Profile, which is free to create. You set it up yourself, with your own Google account, and verify that you really run the business. We do not set it up for you and we do not control what Google shows.
Do both: the profile for people searching "near me", the website for people who want detail before they visit. Link the profile to your site and the site to your profile.
A WhatsApp button that works
Many small businesses here already take enquiries and orders on WhatsApp, so the site should lead there. A click-to-chat button opens a chat with your business number, and can open it with a first message already typed, such as "Hi, I would like to ask about a booking." It uses WhatsApp's own click to chat link, so there is no extra app or monthly fee to run it.
Use a number you will actually answer, and say when you reply. People tap once, and if nothing happens they leave.
Malaysian details to get right
- Show your business identity. Your registered business name and SSM registration number, plus a way to contact you.
- Malay and English. If your customers read both, offer both. A short Malay page, or a fully bilingual site, costs more writing time than it does design time.
- Visitors on mobile data. Keep photos modest in size and the pages light, so the site opens quickly on a phone with limited data.
- DuitNow QR. If customers pay you directly, show your DuitNow QR code on the contact or order page. You get the code from your bank or e-wallet; ask them about fees, which differ by provider. See PayNet for how DuitNow works. The website only shows the code; it does not process payments.
Do you need an online shop?
Often, not yet. Pick the smallest thing that works:
Product list plus WhatsApp
Photos, names and prices on the page, and a button that sends "I want the blue one" to your WhatsApp. This suits a home baker, a florist or a small boutique.
Simple catalogue or booking site
For a longer list of items or appointment slots, the site with booking or catalogue uses Busy hosting at RM49 a month, and the build is RM499.
A full online store
We do not build big online shops with baskets, card checkout and stock control. For that, use an established shop platform such as Shopify, which already handles payments and delivery options. We would rather tell you that now than sell you something that is a poor fit.
What a year of owning the site costs
A "website murah" is only cheap if you count everything. These totals use the build price once, plus twelve months of hosting. They exclude your domain name and business email, which are separate.
| Package | Build, once | Hosting, 12 months | First year | Each year after |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small site | RM199 | 12 × RM15 = RM180 | RM199 + RM180 = RM379 | RM180 |
| Standard site | RM299 | 12 × RM29 = RM348 | RM299 + RM348 = RM647 | RM348 |
No SST is charged at the moment. We will tell you in writing before that ever changes. Payment is by DuitNow QR, hosting monthly in advance.
Is a Facebook page enough?
For some businesses, yes, at the start. A page costs nothing and your customers are already there. But you do not own it: the platform can change its rules, hide your posts or close the page, and you cannot easily take your followers with you.
A sensible middle path: keep the Facebook page for posts and chat, and add a small website as the permanent home that you own. Our website design service is built for that case. If you are in the Klang Valley, the pages for Kuala Lumpur and Selangor add local detail.
